Target Communities

In Quechua, Imaynallam means “How are you?” — a greeting that invites dialogue, care, and connection. We embody this spirit by collaborating directly with target communities and key demographic groups who use their art to earn a living while continuing their fight for social justice.

Causes & Projects

Urpi Collective supports artists, writers, and community creators in San Francisco and Peru whose work is rooted in memory, justice, and dignity. We focus on projects that:

  • Center lived histories, testimonies, and the right to be remembered (Memory & Justice).

  • Protect cultural rights and heritage, especially for marginalized and Indigenous communities.

  • Build intercommunity solidarity between Peru and the Bay Area.

  • Strengthen humanitarian solidarity and dignified livelihoods through fair-sale and mutual aid.

  • Promote education, civic participation, and gender-just, migrant-centered perspectives.

What We Do

To advance these causes, Urpi develops and supports:

  • Creative writing & storytelling projects – writing circles, zines, community story collections, poetry and narrative workshops.

  • Art exhibitions & handmade art initiatives – visual art shows, artisan fairs, and creator spotlights.

  • Film, music & multimedia programs – screenings, audio pieces, and multimedia storytelling rooted in community memory.

  • Talks, panels & workshops – educational and participatory spaces that connect art, rights, and social justice.

  • Memory & archive projects – small community archives and documentation that resist erasure and forgetting.

  • Solidarity & fundraising initiatives – events and campaigns that combine culture with concrete support for humanitarian and memory projects.

Together, these causes and projects turn creativity into a practical tool for justice, resilience, and collective change

  • As a California 501(c)(3) charitable, educational, and cultural nonprofit, Urpi Collective supports public-benefit projects that expand access to arts, cultural memory, and human-rights education for the Peruvian diaspora and allied communities in California and beyond.

  • We also support artists and community projects by offering fiscal sponsorship when needed.
